About

I’m Jo, the founder of Dragonfly Studio based in Ringmer.  I have always had a keen interest in women’s health, nutrition and wellbeing.  In 2001, I trained as a Holistic Massage Therapist then went on to study Reflexology, Facial Acupressure, Holistic Facial and Indian Head Massage. After having my children, I decided to combine my knowledge and skills to help other women, so in 2017 the Dragonfly Studio was born.

As a Holistic Massage Therapist with a background in Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Facial Acupressure, I can incorporate these relaxation and stress relief therapies into my treatments. In 2024, I qualified as a Nutritional Coach with Amanda Hamilton, the renowned Nutritional Therapist, Author and Television Presenter, who also runs her own wellness retreats at some fabulous locations such as Champneys.

I’m passionate about supporting clients to understand how their nutrition choices can have a massive and lasting impact on their body and their overall wellbeing.  By guiding them to think differently about food can have a profound impact on not only their physical health but their mental health too.

About Jo

20 Years of Experience in Holistic Health Therapy

With over 20 years of experience as a Holistic Massage Therapist, I have a unique, unhurried approach to each session.  I am guided by the client throughout – they get to choose the length and format of every treatment.  The appropriate massage pressure is determined by an assessment of the client’s needs for example relaxation vs therapeutic injury recovery. Holistic Health Therapy looks at the whole person – body, mind, and lifestyle. Instead of focusing on symptoms alone, my sessions are designed to support your overall wellbeing. Every session is tailored to your individual needs, helping you feel more balanced, relaxed and supported in your daily life.  I can combine any of the following holistic health support into my treatments:

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage combines therapeutic massage techniques with carefully selected pure essential oils and blends to support both physical and emotional wellbeing.  Many women seek aromatherapy massage to help with:
– Stress and anxiety
– Muscle tension and fatigue
– Emotional tension and burnout
– Sleep difficulties
– Improving circulation and lymphatic drainage
– Boosting the immune system

I offer nurturing therapies that encourage relaxation, release tension and support the body’s natural healing processes. These gentle treatments are designed to help women feel calmer, more energised and better able to manage the pressures of everyday life.

Holistic relaxation and stress relief therapies may include:

Indian Head Massage: Relieves tension from the head, neck and shoulders, whilst stimulating the scalp, improving hair growth and quality, whilst promoting relaxation and mental clarity.
Facial Acupressure: Helps relieve tension in the jaw and lymphatic drainage, improving overall circulation of the skin.
Reflexology: Uses pressure to reflex points in the feet that correspond to organs and body systems, helping restore harmony and wellbeing.

These therapies provide a natural and supportive way for women to recharge and reconnect with their wellbeing.

As I take a holistic approach to the health and wellbeing of all my clients, I understand how nutrition is a key aspect to this.  I am delighted to be able to offer guidance and support to my clients to make sustainable, evidence-based healthy eating and lifestyle changes as part of my treatments. Nutrition plays an important role in supporting energy, hormones, digestion and overall health.  As part of a holistic approach to wellbeing, I offer simple and supportive nutritional guidance to help women nourish their bodies in a sustainable way.

Nutritional support may help with:

– Energy levels and fatigue
– Hormonal balance
– Digestive health
– Stress management
– Improves mental health

The focus is always on gentle, practical changes that help you feel better without restrictive diets or pressure.

Whether it be removing muscular tension, time to relax and have some ‘you time’ or needing support navigating diet and lifestyle through the mid-life point and beyond, Dragonfly Studio offers you a warm and supportive space.

I would love to have the opportunity to help you to invest in your health and boost your wellbeing!
